Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for our Winsted, CT facility. The role focuses on high-precision grinding and milling of aerospace components, with opportunities to work on multi-axis equipment and read blueprints. Qualifications

• 2 years of related machining experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong experience with precision grinding and milling.
• CNC machining experience preferred.
• Experience with multi-axis machining, including 5-axis grinding and 3-axis milling.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-first mindset.

• Set up and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment.
• Perform precision grinding and milling operations on aerospace components.
• Operate and troubleshoot multi-axis machining equipment, including 5-axis grinding and 3-axis milling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Make tooling and offset adjustments to maintain production and quality standards.
• Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Quality teams to improve processes.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
