Job summary

JWC Machine and Fab in Mobile, AL, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to operate turning and milling centers, read basic prints, and verify tolerances. You will follow setup sheets, load parts, and perform in-process checks with calipers and micrometers.

Qualifications

• 1+ year CNC or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Experience with calipers and micrometers.
• Learning mindset and motivation to progress to CNC Machinist.
• Detail orientation and quality focus.
• Reliable attendance; steady focus during repetitive tasks.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC turning and milling equipment per setup sheets and job travelers.
• Load/unload parts and run cycles safely and efficiently.
• Perform in-process checks with calipers, micrometers, and go/no-go gauges.
• Escalate tooling wear, broken tools, or quality concerns to the lead or supervisor immediately.
• Support setups: work-holding changes, tool swaps, and material staging.
• Keep machines and the work cell clean and organized.
• Record accurate part counts and production data.
• Comply with all safety policies; wear PPE at all times.
