Job summary

MB Aerospace East Granby is seeking skilled CNC machinists for 1st shift in a high-precision aerospace environment. The role requires operating 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling/turning machines, setting up jobs, and loading parts with accuracy.

Candidates should have extensive experience with Fanuc controls, read complex operation sheets, and use precision gauges to maintain tight tolerances. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing preferred.
• 3+ years operating CNC multi-axis milling/turning machines preferred.
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• Excellent math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities; collaborative work.

Responsibilities

• Run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and turning machines.
• Load parts onto fixtures and onto hoists; operate hoists to load parts.
• Interpret operation sheets and CNC programs at the machine.
• Read tool sheets and set up tools for each job.
• Use precision measuring tools (gauges, micrometers, calipers).
• Work with hard metals (Inconel, Titanium, Stainless Steel).
• Read and interpret symbols; work within tight tolerances.
• Operate multiple machines in manufacturing cells when feasible.

Position Details:

1st Shift (Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:30pm)

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment preferred.
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis Milling/Turning machine preferred.
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues.

Your Challenge:

• Ability to run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
• Must be willing to run multiple machines simultaneously where possible/feasible as most machines are part of manufacturing cells/machining centers
• Ability to work with hard metals such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel
• Ability to read English and interpret symbols on operation sheets
• Must be proficient in mathematics and be able to use a calculator
• Ability to use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
• Ability to load part onto a fixture
• Ability to load parts and fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
• Ability to read and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
• Must be able to read tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
• Familiarity with operation of Right-Angle Heads
• Must have Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing knowledge
• Must possess the ability to work within tight tolerances such as thousandths

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
