Job summary

Quality Quartz Engineering, Inc. seeks a CNC Mill Trainer to mentor apprentices and new hires in CNC machining fundamentals, blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement. You will help drive safety, quality, and production standards while supporting the apprenticeship program.

You will train, document progress, and recruit local students; travel up to 10% for training or program support. Must have CNC Level I or equivalent hands-on experience and strong teaching skills.

CNC Mill Trainer | Build the Next Generation of Machinists

The CNC Mill Trainer is responsible for training, mentoring, and guiding apprentices and new hires in CNC machining fundamentals and shop practices. Supports the apprenticeship program while reinforcing safety, quality, and performance standards. Assists with production by operating CNC equipment as needed.


What You'll Do


  • Train apprentices and new hires in CNC machining basics and advanced tasks

  • Provide instruction in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings

  • Teach the use of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)

  • Mentor and coach employees on technical skills and workplace behaviors

  • Observe, document, and provide feedback on trainee performance and progress

  • Support and execute apprenticeship program objectives

  • Perform additional CNC-related tasks as assigned by the Foreman

  • Operate CNC machines as needed to support production

  • Promote and enforce safety and quality standards

  • Perform outreach and recruiting efforts with local high schools

  • Interview students and participate in the hiring committee

  • Travel up to 10% as required for training or program support

  • Other duties as assigned


What You Bring

Knowledge & Experience


  • CNC Level I Machinist (or equivalent hands-on experience)

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation and basic programming

Physical Requirements
