Job Overview

As a CNC Operator (Trainee), you will be an important part of making and finishing parts. You will work with advanced CNC machines that transform 3D‑printed metal pieces into high‑quality components used in aircraft. This role connects 3D printing to the final product, and you will learn how to operate CNC machines, mills, and lathes; make small programming changes; set up work tasks; and check the quality of parts.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines and assist with setup, basic programming changes, tool changes, and part inspection.
• Use manual tools such as mills, lathes, bandsaws, and grinders to finish parts and create fixtures.
• Measure parts accurately to ensure they meet quality and size requirements.
• Help maintain and repair CNC machines and shop equipment such as air compressors and chillers.
• Keep the workshop organized and improve processes to increase efficiency.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of CNC operation experience or completed technical training (e.g., machining program at a community college).

Nice to Have

• Experience with CNC mills or lathes and basic knowledge of G‑code.
• Familiarity with metal 3D printing and finishing of those parts.
• Understanding of manual machining, welding, or building with stainless steel, aluminum, or nickel alloys.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other workshop equipment.
• Experience reading blueprints and using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Comfort working with systems such as air, water, and gases.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without help.
• Ability to climb ladders and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work extra hours if needed.
