Job summary

OGS Machining, a CNC job shop, seeks a full-time CNC Mill Setup/Operator for 1st shift (Mon-Thurs, 6:00am–4:30pm) with occasional Friday overtime. You will set up and operate vertical mills, edit programs at the control, and ensure first-piece quality while maintaining production flow.

Responsibilities include proving out setups, inspecting parts, and optimizing processes. The role emphasizes tool planning, safe operation, and documentation for repeatability in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of setups and operation of CNC mills in a job shop.
• Solid understanding of CNC programming structure, tooling theory, and speeds/feeds.
• Fanuc controls experience preferred; manual editing is a plus.
• Identifies critical blueprint dimensions; GD&T skills are a plus.
• Owns or uses personal measuring tools/gages; calibration provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up mills for production.
• Prove out and inspect first piece for each setup.
• Troubleshoot, edit and optimize existing programs at the control.
• Document program changes and processes for repeatability.
• Oversee part quality in the machining cell.
• Plan tooling requirements to minimize downtime.
• Use proper feeds and speeds and avoid tool crashes.
• Inspect and deburr parts to meet blueprints; ensure quality.
