Job summary

LEHNER SCREW MACHINE LLC Akron, Ohio, is seeking a CNC Mill Setup/Operator for 1st shift. The role involves setting up vertical mills, proving out first pieces, and editing programs at the control to ensure efficient production.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of CNC mill experience in a job shop, with knowledge of tooling theory and speeds/feeds. Fanuc controls preferred; GD&T skills and own measuring tools are a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of set-up and operating CNC mills in a job shop.
• Understand CNC programming structure, tooling theory, and speeds/feeds for various materials.
• Fanuc controls experience preferred; manual programming or editing is a plus.
• GD&T skills are a plus; ability to identify critical dimensions.
• Own measuring tools/gages are a plus; QC can provide gages as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up mills for production machining.
• Prove out and inspect first piece for each setup.
• Troubleshoot, edit, and optimize existing programs at the control (G-code).
• Document changes to ensure repeatable setups and efficiency.
• Oversee part quality and adherence to blueprints.
• Plan tooling requirements to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Apply proper feeds, speeds, cutter compensation, and programming strategies.
• Inspect and deburr parts to meet blueprint specs using measuring instruments.
• Assist in making jigs and fixtures to improve productivity.
• Prevent equipment damage and perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Follow safety policies and perform other duties as assigned.
