Job summary

Milton Manufacturing Inc. in Detroit, MI, seeks a CNC Machinist for the 1st shift in a union environment to set up, program, and operate CNC horizontal/vertical mills to produce precision parts to GD&T specs.

You will read blueprints, edit G-code, select tooling, and inspect parts with precision instruments, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of CNC experience, preferably on horizontal and vertical mills and/or boring mills.
• Experience with basic computer systems.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
• Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC horizontal and vertical mills, as well as boring mills.
• Read blueprints and apply GD&T principles.
• Edit G-code and M-code to adjust offsets and parameters.
• Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and work-holding for various mills.
• Inspect parts with precision measuring tools to verify specs.
