Job summary

Midwest Precision in Eastlake, OH is seeking a CNC Mill Setup Operator for the 1st shift. You will perform full setups on CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines, review blueprints and tooling requirements, install fixtures, and verify programs to meet tight GD&T tolerances.

The role requires 5+ years of CNC milling setup experience, familiarity with tooling, offsets, and first-piece inspection. On-site work in Eastlake with safety gear and a focus on precision and quality.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of CNC milling experience with demonstrated setup responsibility.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T, and work to tight tolerances.
• Experience setting up vertical/horizontal milling; Makino or similar centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete full setups on CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines.
• Review job packets, blueprints, setup sheets, tooling requirements, and quality instructions.
• Install fixtures, select and load tooling, touch off tools, and establish work offsets.
• Load, verify, and prove out CNC programs; adjust offset and program at the control.
• Set speeds and feeds, identify tool wear, and troubleshoot issues.
• Produce first-piece and in-process parts meeting tight tolerances and GD&T requirements.
• Inspect using calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and comparators.
• Document production and inspection results and maintain a clean, safe work area.

What You'll Do

• Complete full setups on CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines.
• Review job packets, blueprints, setup sheets, tooling requirements, and quality instructions.

What You Bring

• At least 5 years of CNC milling experience with demonstrated setup responsibility.
• Experience setting up vertical machining centers; horizontal milling experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, understand GD&T, and work to close tolerances.
• Working knowledge of tooling, workholding, offsets, speeds, feeds, and first-piece inspection.
• Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, or other aerospace-grade materials is preferred.
• Makino or similar CNC machining center experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on first shift after training and qualification.
• On-site manufacturing position in Eastlake, Ohio.
• Regular work around CNC equipment, metal chips, coolant, oil, and production noise.
• Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety-toe footwear are required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
