Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills, ensuring quality and safety standards. The role requires reading work orders and blueprints, and maintaining tooling and equipment.

You will measure workpieces to spec, document shift activities, and assist across teams. The position offers on-site hours, a first shift schedule, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus with relocation support up to $5,000 for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of milling experience setting up and operating mills.
• Micrometer/inspection experience.
• GD&T basic knowledge.
• Understanding of CNC G Code.
• Excellent teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
• Validate material used; maintain specifications; troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions; know when to replace worn tools
• Listen to machining operation to detect sounds such as dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems
• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures and knowledge of GDT standards
• Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken and any necessary further steps
• Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

The CNC Mill Machinist produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Essential Functions

• Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
• Validate material usedMaintain specifications; Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions; Know when to replace worn tools
• Listen to machining operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems
• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures and knowledge of GDT standards
• Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps
• Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Non-Essential Functions

• Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and On-Time Delivery (OTD)

Onsite: 1st Shift is M-F 7:00am-4:30pm.

This role is eligible for $1000 sign-on bonus for new hires and up to $5000 for relocation assistance outside of the Bay area.

0-2 years exp= level I= 27-31/hr

2-5 years exp- Level II= 34-39/hr

6+ years exp= Level III= 40-46/hr

Skills and Requirements

• 2+ years exp setting up and operating mill. Preferably 3 or 4 axis rotary vertical mill
• Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent
• micrometer/inspection experience
• GD&T basic knowledge
• tool loading exp nice to have
• Understanding of CNC G Code
• Understanding of basic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry
• Excellent teamwork skills
