Job summary
NWI Aerostructures is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Nashville, TN, focused on CNC milling and in-process metrology to support precision part production. The role emphasizes integrating on-machine measurement systems (Hexagon) to improve quality, reduce scrap, and enable real-time process control, bridging machining, inspection, and data analysis.
The position targets continuous improvement, delivering data-driven feedback from machine results to NC programming to enhance first pass yield
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years CNC milling experience.
- Hands-on experience with on-machine probing and metrology software (PC-DMIS).
- Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and optimize on-machine metrology processes for milling operations.
- Collaborate with programmers, machinists, and Quality Engineers to integrate probing, laser scanning, and panametrics cycles into workflows.
- Improve machining processes using data-driven feedback from in-process measurements.
- Define inspection strategies for in-process and final verification; interpret GD&T and ensure drawings compliance.
