Job summary

Actalent in Findlay, OH is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with CNC machining experience to lead continuous improvement, reduce cycle times, scrap, and optimize productivity on the shop floor. You will analyze processes, tooling, fixtures, and data, apply Lean and Six Sigma, and drive cost efficiency while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering and 3+ years’ experience in machining; proficient with CAD/CAM and Excel; strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in machining/CNC environments.
• Hands-on experience with CNC milling/turning and machining processes.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, fixtures, setups, and manufacturing documentation.
• Proven ability to reduce cycle times, scrap, rework, downtime, and costs.
• Experience troubleshooting shop-floor CNC issues.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, CI and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with PFMEA, SPC, Control Plans, RCA, process capability, and validation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis; strong communication and PM skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and scrap.
• Analyze CNC processes, tooling, equipment, workflows, and data for improvements.
• Apply Lean principles to implement sustainable manufacturing solutions.
• Improve methods and specify cutting tools and fixtures.
• Establish tooling specifications and support machine operations.
• Use CAD/CAM software to enhance manufacturing processes.
• Reduce CNC cycle times, scrap, defects, and rework.
• Decrease CNC setup and changeover times.
• Improve tool life and tooling costs.
• Increase machine utilization, OEE, and throughput.
• Improve first-pass yield and process capability.
• Successfully implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
