Job summary

MAPAL Inc. in Fountain Inn, SC, USA, is seeking a CNC Manual Prep Operator to set up and run cut-off saws, CNC EDM and multi-axis machines, and various grinding and engraving equipment.

You will read engineering drawings, measure parts with precision tools, and ensure work aligns with MAPAL specifications and safety standards. The role requires attention to detail, problem solving, and willingness to work all shifts, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate cut-off saws to prepare material for production.
• Measure materials with digital micrometer, height gauge, caliper, and digital microscope.
• Program, set up and operate CNC EDM sink machines per drawings.
• Program, set up and operate CNC multi-axis machines per drawings.
• Program, set up and operate manual and CNC wheel dressing machines.
• Set up template and Laser Engraving to etch tool markings per MAPAL standards.
• Disassemble/assemble or dress Grinder Wheel Packs for production.
• Set up and operate surface grinder and edge honing machines.
• Produce products according to router, print and capacity efficiently.
• Maintain clean, organized work area per MAPAL standards.
• Exhibit MAPAL behaviors following policy, quality and safety rules.
• Complete tasks as assigned to qualification standards.

• Set up and operate cut-off saws to prepare material for production.
• Material measurement and testing according to blueprints with appropriate measurement tools like digital micrometer, height gauge, caliper, and digital microscope
• Program, set up and operate CNC EDM sink machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications
• Program, set up and operate CNC Multi-axis machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications
• Program, set up and operate Manual and CNC Wheel Dressing machines
• Set up template, sizing, placing and operating a Laser Engraving machine to etch tool markings in accordance with safety procedures and MAPAL standards
• Disassemble, assemble or dress Grinder Wheel Packs for production
• Set up and operate surface grinder and edge honing machines
• Produce product in accordance with job router, print and capacity in the most efficient manner
• Ensure work area and equipment are maintained, organized and cleaned to MAPAL standards
• Exhibit and exceed all MAPAL behaviors as defined by policy, procedure, quality and safety standards
• Tasks as assigned to qualification standard

• Proficiency in reading and understanding Engineering drawings and instructions
• Detail oriented and skilled in understanding troubleshooting, process workflow
