Crane Technologies Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC and Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Rochester Hills, Michigan. We design and manufacture custom overhead bridge cranes and material-handling equipment for industrial and government customers throughout the country.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating CNC lathes and CNC mills.
• Previous experience operating manual lathes and manual mills.
• Strong machine setup and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to read blueprints and hold required tolerances.
• Ability to perform custom setups and determine machining approach.
• CNC programming experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience machining large steel components is a plus.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to producing quality work.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills.
• Set up and operate manual lathes and manual milling machines.
• Machine custom steel components according to drawings and specs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and machining symbols.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and processes.
• Perform one-off machining, repairs, modifications, and short production runs.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.
• Make offsets and CNC program adjustments as necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep a clean workspace.
• Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and assembly to complete projects.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills
• Set up and operate manual lathes and manual milling machines
• Machine custom steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and machining symbols
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining processes
• Perform one-off machining, repairs, modifications, and short production runs
• Inspect completed parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Make offsets and CNC program adjustments as necessary
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Work closely with engineering, fabrication, and assembly personnel to complete custom projects
