An established industry leader in manufacturing is seeking a skilled CNC/Manual Machinist to join their team in Portland. This role involves performing various machining tasks, including setup and operation of CNC mills and lathes, while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both CNC and manual machining, along with a strong understanding of blueprints and inspection processes. Key Responsibilities:
Perform machining tasks safely and efficiently in an industrial shop environment.
Machining processes include but not limited to Turning, Milling, Drilling, Reaming,
Boring, Slotting, Grinding, and Tapping.
Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal mills and lathes
Load and run CNC programs, ensuring machine efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and inspection results.
Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and
productivity.
Ensure all safety procedures are followed, and the proper PPE is in place.
Be able to safely and properly rig, move, and flip heavy parts using overhead cranes.
Monitor and maintain shop tooling.
Read and understand blueprints on an advanced level.
Be able to inspect and report dimensional features of workpieces using scales, calipers,
micrometers, profilometer, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
Qualifications:
Must have a good attitude, good attendance, and be able to contribute to a positive
culture that is focused on safety and efficiency.
Must have a knowledge of rigging and the use of overhead cranes.
Minimum of 10 years combined experience as a CNC and manual machinist.
Advanced understanding of blueprints, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
Advanced understanding of metrology and use of inspection tools.
Available to work weekends and overtime.
Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
