Job summary

Enpro is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to enhance operational efficiency by performing intermediate maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of manufacturing equipment and facility systems, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and uptime.

You will work with independence, prioritize work with production, document work orders, and may mentor less experienced colleagues as part of a team dedicated to reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of production equipment and facility systems.
  • Experience supporting equipment reliability, downtime reduction, installation and commissioning activities, maintenance management systems, and troubleshooting of CNC machining centers and other precision manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong ownership of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, repair quality, and timely communication of issues that may affect production uptime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and adjustments on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related equipment issues using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and sound troubleshooting methods.
  • Complete moderate to high complexity maintenance tasks independently within established procedures, determining appropriate repair methods and consulting with supervision on complex or unprecedented issues.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and supervision to prioritize maintenance work, respond to equipment concerns, and support production continuity while minimizing unplanned downtime.
  • Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, and modifications by supporting setup, alignment, testing, and verification of safe and reliable operation.
  • Maintain accurate work order documentation, maintenance records, repair history, and updates within applicable maintenance management systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with company safety standards, regulatory requirements, lockout/tagout expectations, and applicable work procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with supervisors and other departments regarding task status, equipment issues, repair needs, and production impact.
  • May provide guidance, training, or technical support to Maintenance Technicians or other less experienced colleagues while promoting safe work practices and strong teamwork.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician II enhances operational efficiency by performing intermediate-level maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role plays a key part in preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and downtime reduction by identifying root causes, completing repairs within established standards, and supporting production needs with a strong focus on safety, quality, and uptime. The Maintenance Technician II works with independence and may provide guidance or training to less experienced colleagues.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related industrial systems with limited supervision.

  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools, meters, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment to evaluate, repair, and verify equipment performance.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and equipment documentation.

  • Strong ownership of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, repair quality, and timely communication of issues that may affect production uptime.

  • Applies sound judgment, resourcefulness, and decision quality when selecting maintenance methods and repair techniques within established protocols.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Vocational training, technical certification, or coursework in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.

  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, including hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of production equipment and facility systems required.

  • Experience supporting equipment reliability, downtime reduction, installation and commissioning activities, maintenance management systems, and troubleshooting of CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, grinding equipment, and other precision manufacturing equipment preferred.

  • Experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC machine control issues using technical manuals, schematics, diagnostic tools, and troubleshooting methodologies preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.; team lift required for items over 35 lbs.

  • Standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods while responding to maintenance needs.

  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and positioning required to complete complex repairs and equipment access.

  • Manual dexterity required for use of diagnostic tools and work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related systems.

  • Climbing ladders, working at heights, and working in confined spaces may be required for equipment access and repair.

  • Visual acuity required to inspect equipment conditions and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and equipment indicators.
