Job summary

Enpro Industries, Inc. seeks an experienced CNC machinist to operate and set up machines for complex parts, review drawings, and ensure precision. You will program basic CNC routines under supervision and inspect finished work to exact tolerances.

You will collaborate with Quality and Engineering, promote safety, and maintain a clean, efficient work area while building strong teamwork and continuous improvement. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in CNC tooling.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in CNC milling/lathe/router machining.
  • Ability to perform basic programming using CAD-CAM software preferred.
  • Previous experience with machining processes and tool design.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and sketches.
  • Basic/intermediate math skills such as geometry, trigonometry and formulation.
  • Basic knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials.
  • PTFE or plastics experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience in lean manufacturing preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:

Manufactures a wide range of complex parts using machine tools, including maximizing efficiency through the operation process and observing multiple CNC Mills and Lathes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs basic set-up and operation of limited scope of machines with supervision.
  • Writes basic programs for CNC machines with supervision.
  • Manufactures parts from drawing or blueprints.
  • Performs tool recalibration.
  • Sharpens and modifies cutting tools.
  • Performs basic machine maintenance, lubrication, and recalibration.
  • Inspects work using inspection tooling (i.e. micrometers, calipers, etc.) to accurately measure complex part features.
  • Deburrs parts.
