This candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks associated with repairing or resolving issues with most CNC machine tools and other equipment. Use precision test equipment to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical problems. Intermediate knowledge of CNC controls from different manufacturers is required. Work closely with customers, vendors, OEMs, and other KRC personnel. Independently organize and complete repairs. Train and assist Level 1 and Level 2 equipment repair technicians and preventive maintenance technicians. Must have a good working knowledge and skills for accurate troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic circuitry. Perform specialized machine tool and equipment repair processes.

Description of Work Performed:

• Level and align machines and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair major machine tool and equipment issues
• Disassemble, repair, and rebuild equipment sub-assemblies and assemblies
• Organize, tag, and mark components for assembly
• Identify, repair, or replace damaged components
• Report activities and expenses accurately and timely
• Servo system tuning (ability preferred)
• Experience with autoclaves
• Train other employees for advancement
• Train customers on CNC operation and maintenance
• Perform advanced electrical and electronic circuitry troubleshooting and repair
• Communicate with customers, vendors, OEMs, and KRC personnel
• Perform light facilities maintenance such as electrical work
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting of hours and expenses
• Keep work area organized and clean
• Work independently with limited supervision
• Perform other duties as assigned

Instructions, Methods, and Procedures:

Work via dispatched Work Orders. Technical instructions from fellow technicians, OEM manuals, or training documentation.

Relations to Others:

• Customer relations – Production Management and Operators
• OEM relations – Management, support, parts personnel
• KRC relations – Maintenance Management, Purchasing, Administration, Technicians

Minimum Requirements:

• Advanced machine tool and equipment knowledge
• 5+ years experience in maintenance
• Autoclave experience
• Associates degree in electronic engineering or related field (experience may substitute)
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, blueprints, and test equipment
• Mechanical hand tools and toolbox
• Forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift certification
• Knowledge of parametric programming and ladder logic
• Understanding of safety practices
• Basic hand and power tools knowledge
• Production process and programming knowledge
• Interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of company policies
• Intermediate computer skills
• Troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of CNC controls and electrical schematics
• Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds

Education:

High School diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.

Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum one-year mechanical background with CNC repair experience. Ability to work in a repetitive environment, meeting cost, quality, and schedule requirements. Teamwork and independent work skills required.
