POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior CNC Maintenance Technician will be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC and other machines at our manufacturing plant. Our machines include a variety of Swiss lathes, conventional lathes, and mills. Brands of machine on site include Star, Miyano, Sharp, Haas, Okamoto, Mori, and others. As part of the Maintenance Team, they will also be responsible for various maintenance tasks throughout the facility; and will participate in the company-wide lean conversion process. The role is fully on-site, first shift position, located at our climate-controlled facility in West Chester, PA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure preventative maintenance procedures are completed – includes hydraulic, electronic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for the facility.
- Investigate equipment failures to diagnose root cause of failure, implement repairs, and recommend future preventative maintenance to avoid future failures.
- Perform machine and equipment installation, relocation, removal/salvage.
- Perform maintenance duties for the facility.
- Identify and procure any equipment, parts, components, or tooling as needed.
- Research, design, evaluate, install, and generate maintenance records for equipment necessary to meet operational requirements.
- Manage outside services personnel.
- Lead by example for safety and quality through discipline to 6S program.
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
- Computer and database skills.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Problem solving skills and critical thinking in order to design, develop, execute, and improve systems.
- Understanding of lean culture and systems.
- Knowledge of maintenance and technology to apply these principles to equipment selection, design, procurement, installation, application, and repair.
- Drive to learn new principles and skills for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years maintenance experience required.
- 2+ years CNC machining repair and troubleshooting experience required.
- Previous experience with plumbing and electrical work required.
