Job summary

Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturer partnering with aerospace, defense, and space OEMs. The CNC Maintenance Engineer ensures uptime by maintaining CNC lathes, mills, and grinders, and supporting facility systems.

The role requires diagnosing complex issues with manuals and tooling, with a blend of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise. Pair with production and engineering to improve processes and train operators.

Qualifications

• 1-5+ years CNC maintenance experience in manufacturing or machine shop.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and 480V three-phase power, VFDs, and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance on CNC machines to minimize downtime and keep records.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with installation, leveling, and calibration of new and existing machinery.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints; manage spare parts inventory.
• Adhere to safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout; use PPE and electrical safety standards.
• Collaborate with production/engineering to prioritize repairs and support lean projects.
• Perform general facility maintenance as needed.
• Support lean manufacturing projects as needed.
