Job summary

QA1 is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist in Lakeville, MN. The role involves setting up and operating CNC machines, tooling and offset adjustments, and performing first‑piece inspections in a framework that emphasizes craftsmanship and teamwork.

You will work with Haas, Mazak, and Mori equipment, supporting continuous improvement and maintaining quality standards in a modern manufacturing environment. The schedule is Friday–Sunday, 6:00am–6:00pm with potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • Technical training in CNC machining or equivalent
  • At least 3 years in a CNC Machinist role; Haas/Mazak/Mori experience preferred
  • Foundational knowledge of setup, tooling, offsets, feeds/speeds, and program adjustments
  • Ability to read blueprints and use inspection tools
  • Forklift certification may be required on request

Responsibilities

We're looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Lakeville Minnesota team and play a key role in producing the quality components that power our success. As a CNC Machinist, you'll have the opportunity to perform machine setups, make tooling and offset adjustments, conduct first-piece inspections, troubleshoot machining challenges, and help drive continuous improvement in a modern manufacturing environment. You'll work with well-maintained Haas, Mazak, and Mori equipment, supported by proven programs, quality tooling, and a team that values craftsmanship, accountability, and teamwork. Work schedule: Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00 pm with overtime pending business need.

The Opportunity:
  • Set up and operate CNC machines within a designated work center to produce parts according to job orders, specifications, prints, and company quality standards.
  • Load, edit, and adjust CNC programs, tooling, and offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy, quality, and efficient production.
  • Perform in‑process inspections to ensure accuracy and quality of machined parts using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, or excess material from finished parts as required through deburring or rework activities.
  • Accurately record part counts and production transactions within the job sequence or production system.
  • Prepare and complete end‑of‑shift reports when required.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to CNC Operators and CNC Assistants as needed.
  • Load bar stock and tubing into machines and maintain proper coolant levels.
  • Monitor machine performance and, when required, assist with minor program adjustments according to the established guidelines.
  • Perform routine daily maintenance on equipment and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment issues, defects, or process discrepancies to Area Manager. management.
  • Package finished parts according to job requirements and handling standards.
  • Actively support and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of QA1 Brands.
The Critical Skills and Experience You’ll Need:
  • Education: Technical training in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or a related field from a vocational school or technical college; CNC machining certification preferred.
  • At least 3 years in similar capacity; prior experience with Haas, Mazak, or Mori equipment preferred. Professional credentials
  • Foundational knowledge of CNC machining processes, including machine setup, tooling selection, offsets, feeds and speeds, and program adjustments.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills related to tooling, machining processes, and equipment performance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating with team members and supporting Operators or Assistants as needed.
  • Strong math skills, including basic geometry and shop math, with the ability to apply measurements and tolerances accurately.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and CMM.
  • Become and maintain forklift certification, if requested.
  • Ability to navigate basic computer programs including ShopTrak/Syteline.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Person people want to work with.

  • Basic math, reading and English communication skills.
  • Comfortable with team interaction or alone under busy conditions with minimal supervision.
