Madden Industrial Craftsmen Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist Trainee for a long-term, day shift opportunity in NW Portland, OR.

This role is ideal for someone with basic machining exposure or a strong mechanical aptitude who wants to grow into a skilled CNC Machinist in a shop that handles large components up to 100,000 lbs. You will assist with the setup and operation of mills and lathes, read blueprints, and learn proper tooling, workholding, and machining processes under experienced

Qualifications

• Previous machining exposure or mechanical experience is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn CNC and manual machining.
• Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious work ethic.
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings with guidance.

Responsabilités

• Assist with setup and operation of machining equipment including horizontal mills, vertical boring mills, lathes, and other CNC/manual equipment.
• Learn machine setup, tooling, workholding, and machining processes under experienced machinists.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, dimensions, and machining instructions.
• Use micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and quality.
• Deburr, inspect, and prepare machined components for subsequent operations or shipment.
• Assist with safe setup and handling of large and heavy components.
• Develop machining skills through hands-on training and experience.
