Job summary

Bender CCP is seeking a skilled Manual / Conventional Machinist to join our Portland team. You will work on large shafts and critical components, performing challenging machining operations with setup and precision at the core of every part.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of conventional machining experience, can read drawings, and are comfortable handling heavy parts with cranes. This role offers a day shift with overtime opportunities and room to grow your craft.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of manual/conventional machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience handling long shafts and precision machining is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual engine lathes and conventional equipment to machine and repair components.
• Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, grooving and machining on long shafts between centers.
• Read drawings, select tooling, set feeds/speeds, and inspect work with precision instruments.
• Safely handle heavy parts with cranes and rigging; maintain a tidy, safe workspace.
