Job summary

Volt is seeking full-time Machinists in Dayton, MN to read blueprints, program and operate CNC mills and lathes, and transform complex drawings into precise parts. This temporary-to-long-term opportunity offers training, steady shifts, and room to grow within a climate-controlled facility.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years CNC experience, a 2-year technical degree or equivalent, and strong math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years CNC machine tool operation and programming experience on milling and turning.
• High school diploma or GED; additional 2-year technical schooling in Machine Tool Technology or Tool and Die.
• Proficiency with blueprints and precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints.
• Program and operate CNC machines.
• Transform drawings and sketches into parts.
• Perform hand-fitting operations.
• Build multiple parts holding tools.
• Work with engineers to meet machine requirements and prototype costs.
• Inspect parts for conformance to blueprints using precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain safety procedures for self and others.
