Job summary

RTCA is seeking a CNC Machinist - Swing Shift Lead to join our Rockford, MI team. This role is a hands-on leadership position providing day-to-day guidance to CNC Operators and Machinists, coordinating workflows and ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to schedules in a high-precision aerospace environment.

The Area Lead will work onsite from 4pm to 2:30am (4-10 hour shifts) with a $2/hr shift differential.

Qualifications

• Several years of CNC machining experience in aerospace or precision environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, setups, blueprints, GD&T and inspection practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example and train others.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform CNC machining, setup, and production activities as a working lead.
• Coordinate daily workflow to meet production schedules.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and training to CNC Operators and Machinists.
• Monitor quality, safety, and procedural compliance; address issues as they arise.
• Assist with troubleshooting production, tooling, and process issues; escalate when needed.
• Communicate production status and resource needs with leadership.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
