Job summary

Prince Industries is seeking a CNC Machinist - Set Up Operator to join the Carol Stream team. You will operate CNC Milling Machines to machine metallic and non-metallic workpieces and report to the Production Manager.

The role requires 5+ years in CNC, setup experience, and the ability to read GD&T blueprints. The job offers a sign-on incentive and strong benefits, with a competitive $27-$32 hourly rate for on-site work in Carol Stream, IL.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a CNC related field - set up experience preferred.
Experience in vertical and horizontal milling machines setup.
Ability to quickly use the control panel to do offsets and edits on 2-3 of the FMS machinery.
Tolerance: +/- 0.0005" for diameter and +/- 0.001" for length.
Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints to required specification.

Responsibilities

Machine setup, operation, and startup; adjust tooling to maintain sizes.
Verify conformance of workpiece to specifications using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Secure tooling and instruments; position workpiece in holding devices or fixtures.
Adjust work offsets and part zero.
Set speed and feed according to different part specifications.
Perform daily machine maintenance and checks on coolant levels and filters.
Load tools and set tool diameters for cutter compensation.
Install workholding and assist with departmental transfers as needed.
