Job summary

Prince Industries in Carol Stream, IL is seeking a CNC Machinist - Set Up Operator to join the Lathe Department. You will operate CNC milling machines to machine metallic and non-metallic workpieces and report to the Production Manager.

This 2nd shift runs Monday through Friday, 4:30 pm to 1:00 am. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for machinists at this location, with opportunities to advance as you master offsets, tooling, and GD&T blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a CNC related field - setup experience preferred.
• Experience in vertical and horizontal milling machines setup.
• Ability to quickly use the control panel to do offsets and edits on 2-3 of the FMS machinery.
• Tolerance: +/- 0.0005" for diameter and +/- 0.001" for length.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints to required specification.

Responsibilities

• Machine setup, operation, and startup, adjusting tooling to maintain sizes.
• Verify conformance using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Secure tooling and position workpiece in fixtures or holding devices.
• Adjust work offsets and part zero; set speed and feed per spec.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance and light housekeeping of machines.
• Load tools and set diameters for cutter radius compensation.
• Install workholding and support production needs.
