Job description

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated CNC machinist with a strong mechanical aptitude. The ideal candidate has reliable transportation and impeccable attendance. The role involves performing a variety of tasks with little supervision, so independence and time management are essential. Responsibilities include setting up CNC machining centers, making minor edits to G and M code, and working primarily with plastics on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC centers. Candidates should have their own hand tools and measuring tools.

Experience/Education Desired:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus.
• 5-8 years CNC Mill and Lathe experience.
• 3+ years programming experience.
• Knowledge of Mazak Mazatrol and/or SmoothAi.
• Experience with FeatureCam Software or similar.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
• Set up, operate, edit, and program CNC machines and machining centers.
• Set up and operate manual mills and lathes.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories; create fixtures as needed.
• Calculate and set controls for machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth.
• Operate Haas and Mazak/Fanuc machines.
• Proof programs and understand G and M code programs, making changes as needed.
• Perform machine maintenance as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Work with multi-axis and live tooling machining centers.
• Work within tight tolerances (+/- .001).
• Multi-task effectively and communicate clearly.
• Must be drug-free.

Physical Job Demands:

The role requires standing, handling, reaching, occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus. Safety glasses are mandatory.

Teamwork and communication are vital, with a focus on quality and knowledge sharing.
