CNC Machinist Sales and Application Engineer

Individuals could be located in Green Bay, WI or within about 60 miles. Other acceptable locations include Appleton, Manitowoc, Waupaca, Marinette.

Job Summary

Kennametal is seeking talented machinists and programmers looking to transition into a professional sales role. If you currently work in machining or have hands-on machining and CNC programming experience, we are interested in speaking with you! This role involves driving metal-cutting tool sales growth by managing customer relationships, providing technical support, and increasing productivity. It combines technical knowledge and sales skills to meet targets, build territory presence, and support customer initiatives. The role is based from a home office within the territory, with 80% or more of the time spent at customer locations. A company vehicle, competitive salary plus performance bonus, and benefits from day one are provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed revenue targets by providing solutions that meet customer needs and industry trends.
  • Manage sales leads, prospects, and customer accounts effectively.
  • Handle the complete sales process from prospecting to sourcing.
  • Develop strategic territory plans to achieve revenue goals, focusing on new product sales.
  • Respond promptly to pre-sales technical and commercial queries.
  • Maintain customer and project records in CRM.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support customer needs.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and workshops, both online and onsite.
  • Represent Kennametal at industry events and trade shows.
  • Analyze application needs to deliver cost savings and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare and present reports on progress and forecasts.
Requirements
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in Business, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of CNC machining industry experience.
  • Proficient in product applications and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of industry dynamics and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and administrative skills.
  • Customer-focused with problem-solving passion.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing project specifications.
  • Creative, persuasive, and strategic thinker.
  • Team player with cross-department collaboration skills.
