Job summary

BW Papersystems, part of the Barry-Wehmiller Group, is seeking a machinist to perform rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, and related operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. You will work from drawings and specifications, selecting speeds and feeds, and setting up tools as needed.

Responsibilities include inspecting finished parts for defects, maintaining safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Typically 2-4 years machining experience.
• Able to read drawings and work with route sheets and specs.
• Skilled with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers).

Responsibilities

• Machine parts to specifications using mills, lathes, saws or grinders.
• Measure and test finished units with precision instruments to ensure conformance.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using math and measuring tools.
• Set up and operate basic and advanced machine tools for precision work.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools, and materials on machines; monitor feed and speed.
