Job summary

SKF in Sumter, SC is seeking a CNC Machinist to efficiently set up, operate and troubleshoot CNC machining centers. You will follow established procedures to maintain quality and productivity while adhering to safety guidelines.

The role requires reading drawings, using precision measuring tools, and performing inspections to ensure conformance to specs. Preferred candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 1–3 years of machining experience, with a technical degree valued.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1–3 years machining experience in precision manufacturing.
• Technical Skills: Technical Degree in manufacturing technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Starts up and shuts down CNC machines following procedures and safety guidelines.
• Sets up and operates NC, CNC, PLC, and manual machines including lathes for turning, boring and facing.
• Reads and interprets engineering and quality specifications; adjusts machine controls as needed.
