Job summary

SPX is seeking a Machinist to produce precision parts in a fast-paced machine shop environment in Orlando. You will load materials, set up CNC and manual machines, and perform inspections to ensure conformance to blueprints and quality targets.

The role requires reading blueprints, GD&T, and G/M codes, with a minimum of five years in a machine shop. Expect daylight hours, regular safety practices, and opportunities for skill development in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of machine shop experience.
• Experience operating CNC and manual mills and lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, G and M codes.
• Basic computer skills including email and MS Office.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce parts according to production schedules and direction from lead.
• Load raw materials and workpieces into machines safely and accurately.
• Set up machine work offsets, fixtures, and attachments per work instructions.
• Maintain equipment via daily/weekly preventive maintenance and report repairs.
• Follow blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate production.
• Document production and inspection results and support continuous improvements.
