Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries seeks a qualified Machinist for our Sonora, California sawmill. You will run CNC mills and lathes, analyze drawings, and develop parts with multi-axis machining.

The role involves setting up tooling, working with engineers, and ensuring precise tolerances while maintaining safety standards. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of machining experience or relevant training, can read blueprints, and know speeds/feeds.

Qualifications

• 2 years or more of machinist experience or an educational equivalent.
• Experience with CNC mills and lathes; ability to set up tooling.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Familiar with speeds and feeds and tight tolerances.
• Knowledge of machining steel, aluminum, and plastics.

Responsibilities

• Run and operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Analyze drawings to develop parts using multi-axis machining operations.
• Create and set up tooling and fixtures.
• Work closely with engineers and assist millwrights as needed.
• Determine and utilize proper speeds and feeds to reference point location.
• Maintain quality and manufacturing standards while adhering to safety guidelines.
