Qualifications

• Completion of a machining program or vocational training is beneficial
• Practical experience with manual and CNC machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, drills
• Experience reading engineering drawings and blueprints to interpret specs
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
• Ability to troubleshoot machine/tooling/workpiece issues and adjust accordingly
• Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE usage in machining environments

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools to produce metal parts to specifications
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specs to determine machining requirements
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job
• Inspect machined parts using precision instruments to ensure quality
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with machines and tooling
• Perform routine maintenance on machine tools to ensure reliability
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE at all times
• Maintain accurate records of setups, tooling changes, and inspections
