Job summary

Ducommun Incorporated in Parsons, KS seeks a CNC Machinist (B Shift) to set up and operate conventional and CNC machines. You’ll study blueprints, select tools, adjust speeds/feeds, and verify finished parts meet specs. Expect collaboration with engineers and production staff to resolve issues and maintain quality.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, setting up fixtures, collecting SPC data, and ensuring safe handling of materials. Training period precedes shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Operates mills and lathes with vertical/horizontal setups as needed.
• Maintains quality with SPC data and first article inspection.

Responsibilities

• Studies drawings and specs to determine machining sequence and setups.
• Sets up fixtures, tools, and materials on machines like mills and lathes.
• Calculates speeds/feeds and coolant flow for accurate cuts.
• Monitors operation, detects malfunctions, and adjusts controls.
• Verifies conformance to specifications and quality standards.
• Collaboration with engineers and production to resolve issues.
