Job summary

JWC Machine and Fab in Mobile, AL seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, ensuring tight tolerances from print. You will own part quality from first article through final inspection and contribute to continuous process improvements.

The role requires multi-axis capability, GD&T proficiency, and experience with Fanuc or Haas controls, plus the ability to read engineering drawings and maintain precise records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills in a production or job-shop environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T callouts.
• Proficiency in selecting feeds, speeds, and tooling for various materials.
• Experience with offset adjustments and basic program editing at the control (Fanuc, Haas, or equivalent).
• Ability to perform first-article and in-process inspections and use standard inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines from engineering drawings.
• Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and in-process dimensional inspection.
• Read and interpret GD&T tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Conduct first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM (if applicable).
• Maintain accurate job records, traveler documentation, and material traceability.
• Communicate status, tooling needs, and quality issues with supervisors.
