Job summary

Vaupell is seeking a CNC Machinist Operator - Milling for the 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) at our Agawam, MA facility. The role involves producing precision parts on CNC lathes, milling machines, and bridgeports, with emphasis on quality and safety.

Responsibilities include setting up machines, measuring parts, maintaining documentation, and ensuring parts meet specifications. Experience with Makino, Haas, and Robodrills is preferred; HS diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3+ years of job-specific experience.
• Experience with CNC machining for milling/turning operations is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Loads, operates, cleans and maintains CNC machines and other shop equipment as directed.
• Ensures parts meet specifications to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Verifies settings by measuring specifications on work pieces.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing.
• Taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls.
• Maintains accurate quality records and documentation per regulatory and internal requirements.
• Follows all Vaupell policies, SOPs and safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Purpose

Produce small to medium size precision machined parts by operating computer numerical control (CNC) lathes, milling machines and bridgeports.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

Job Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma/(GED) and 3 year's plus job specific experience.
• Experience on Makinos, Haas, and Robodrills
• Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
• Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment

Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand and walk for the majority of the workday; lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to or over 50 pounds occasionally; push, pull, bend at the waist, reach above and below shoulder level, grasp, handle, and use finger dexterity as needed to perform machining and inspection duties. The role also requires eye-hand coordination, near and far vision acuity, depth and color perception, ordinary hearing, keyboarding, and the ability to occasionally sit, climb stairs or ladders, balance, kneel, crawl, turn, or twist.
