Job description

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a CNC Machinist (Operator A) – 2nd Shift in Glenolden, PA.

Shift hours: 2PM – 11:15PM, Monday–Friday. Pay: $26.50 per hour plus a 15% shift premium.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints generated per ANSI/ASME Y14.5 guidelines and manufacture parts that conform to the same specifications.
• Set up and run CNC lathes (3‑ or 4‑axis) and CNC mills (4‑ or 5‑axis) in a production environment.
• Interpret and edit G‑code NC programs.
• Set up and operate simple machine tools such as drill presses, manual presses, saws and shears.
• Set up and operate manual lathes and/or mills.
• Sharpen various cutting tools.
• Inspect GD&T features using basic and advanced inspection techniques, including vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, comparators, bore micrometers, surface plates and Coordinate‑Measuring Machines.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering with intermediate and some advanced machining troubleshooting.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering with process development and tool identification.
• Train others on machines and processes within Value Stream.
• Identify and initiate continuous improvement for product safety, quality and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3years of machinist or tool‑maker experience in the trade.
• All applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR regulations; U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee or Refugee.
• Position requires use of information or hardware subject to ITAR.
• No relocation benefit is offered; candidates must reside within 50miles of the work location (active‑Duty military service members are exempt).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or formal education in design/drafting with emphasis on CAD.
• CNC programming experience, specifically MasterCAM.
• 5+years of experience in the trade as a machinist or tool maker.

• Experience sharpening tools such as boring bars, drills on darex, tree pan tools.
• Ability to run most equipment in turning or milling operations.
• Proficiency using a personal computer.
• Proficient in printed reading and inspection, including CMM use.
