Job summary

Silfex Inc., a Lam Research Company, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist 3 to operate and optimize 3–5 axis CNC machines, inspect parts, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves mentoring junior machinists and maintaining a safe, high-quality working environment.

You will collaborate with engineering and management on procedures, contribute to lean manufacturing efforts, and ensure production quality through precise measurements and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years CNC machining experience on 3- or 5-axis machines.
• Must have machine control experience.
• Attention to detail is required.
• Must be quality and safety minded.
• Must possess basic proficiency in operating computers, including navigating software and web-based platforms.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate 3 to 5 axis CNC machine tools to accurately machine parts per work instructions and manufacturing plan.
• Verify conformance of in-process and final products through dimensional and visual inspections using precision tools and equipment (micrometers, indicators, calipers, profilometers, CMMs).
• Use proper material handling techniques to ensure quality of product and equipment condition.
• Maintain product specifications by measuring, detecting malfunctions, and replacing worn tools; follow QA procedures.
• Follow work instructions, setup sheets and other production related information.
• Document measurements and observations by completing production and quality logs.
• Set up tooling geometry with tool setters and dressers.
• Generate maintenance work orders for CNC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and manage coolant lines/nozzle positioning.
• Set up machines for production and ensure operating correctly.
• Apply Silfex Quality Management System and SOPs; participate in lean/5S; pursue continuous improvement.
