Job summary

MAPAL Inc. is the US subsidiary of the MAPAL Group, located in Fountain Inn, SC. The CNC Machine Operator/Machinist role focuses on setting up and operating multi-axis CNC grinders or OD grinders to produce parts per blueprints and MAPAL standards.

You will interpret engineering drawings, measure tooling with micrometers and calipers, perform inspections, and maintain logs. Training and safety are emphasized in this role, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Education/experience equivalent to a 2-4 year degree or OJT.
• Experience with multi-Axis CNC grinding or OD grinding machines.
• Experience with precision measurement equipment to MAPAL tolerances.
• Detail oriented and able to understand process workflows.
• Proficient reading engineering drawings and instructions.
• Experience with metal cutting principles and interpreting prints.
• Ability to follow verbal and written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC multi-axis grinding or OD grinding equipment to produce parts per blueprints and MAPAL standards.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
• Perform tool measurement and testing using digital micrometers, calipers, and 3-axis measuring devices.
• Conduct routine inspections and adjustments to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Inspect finished parts with precision tools to verify tolerances and MAPAL specifications.
• Maintain machine speeds, feeds, and tooling for optimal performance and quality.
• Keep production logs of totals, defects, and quality checks.
• Train new operators and follow MAPAL procedures.
