Qualifications

  • 5+ years of CNC machining in a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of tooling, feeds/speeds, offsets, chip management, and tool life optimization
  • Troubleshoot machining processes and improve efficiency
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines (3-, 4-, 5-axis) and mill-turn setups

Job Title: CNC Machinist - Multi-Axis (2nd Shift)

Compensation: $28.00-$38.00.00/hr (includes shift differential)

Location: Charlotte, NC area

Requirements: 5+yrs of CNC Machining in a High-Production Manufacturing Environment, GD&T, CNC Milling set up, Precision measuring instruments, HEM (understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, chip management, tool-life, etc etc

Position Overview

This role is ideal for a true machinist who understands CNC milling, tooling, feeds and speeds, chip management, and process optimization in a high-volume production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality precision components while maximizing efficiency, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program, setup and operate multi-axis CNC machines (3-, 4- and 5-axis and mill-turn/multi-tasking machines) to produce parts to print and work orders.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to verify critical features and tolerances.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC milling equipment for production runs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing drawings
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Make tooling, offset, feed, and speed adjustments to maintain quality and production targets
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues to reduce downtime
  • Monitor tool life and recommend process improvements
  • Utilize High Efficiency Milling (HEM) principles to improve cycle times, chip control, and overall machining performance
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve throughput and reduce scrap
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong CNC milling setup and operation experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality inspections
  • Strong understanding of tooling, feeds/speeds, offsets, chip management, and tool life optimization
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining processes and improve efficiency
  • Experience working in a high-volume production environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • High Efficiency Milling (HEM) experience
  • Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain controls experience
  • Aerospace, medical device, automotive, industrial manufacturing, or other precision-machining background
  • Technical trade school, machining certification, or apprenticeship training
