Qualifications

• CNC machining experience or trade-school training.
• Basic blueprint reading skills.
• Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, or gauges.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling or turning machines.
• Load and indicate fixtures, tooling, and workpieces.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.
• Establish and adjust work offsets and tool offsets.
• Monitor cuts and adjust to keep parts in tolerance.
• Inspect own work using micrometers, calipers, gauges and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling, dimensional, finish, or machining problems.
• Make CNC program edits based on experience level.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to resolve machining issues.
• Maintain accurate job and production documentation.
• Help improve setups, tooling, or processes.
• At higher levels, mentor developing machinists.
