Job summary

Goetsch's Welding & Machine, Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Operator to run lathe and mill operations on the 2nd shift. Responsibilities include simple setups, operating CNC machines, and maintaining equipment to meet precise specifications.

Ideal candidates will read drawings/blueprints, interpret CAD designs, and apply G-code/M-code programming. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork within a metal manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical certification or relevant degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machines in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs.
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tools, and materials.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as G-code and M-code.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce precision metal components according to specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and inspect equipment for optimal condition.

CNC Machinist-Mill Operator-Lathe Operator-2nd Shift

Job Title: CNC Machinist Operator - Lathe and/or Mill (Main focus)

2nd Shift - 3pm to 1am (Monday - Thursday) wage + additional $2/hr. differential. (Will train on a modified shift, working part of 1st shift into 2nd shift for more benefical training before working totally on 2nd shift)

Job Type: Full time Hourly Wage: Based on experience Overtimeon an as needed basis.

Approximately 7 miles north of Wausau, WI on S. County Road K and approximately 8 miles south of Merrill, WI on S. County Road K.

Position Overview for CNC Machinist Operator:

As a CNC Machinist Operator in our metal manufacturing division, you will be responsible for simple set ups, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Using your expertise in machining and production techniques, you will manufacture precision components and parts to meet customer specifications. This role requires a thorough understanding of CNC operation, as well as the ability to interpret drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities for CNC Machinist Operator:

• Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce precision metal components according to specifications
• Perform routine machine maintenance and conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal condition
• Analyze and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to determine machining requirements
• Evaluate material stock and select appropriate cutting tools and machining techniques for each job
• Adjust machine settings, including speeds and feed rates, to ensure accurate and efficient production
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality control and identify any deviations or malfunctions
• Conduct thorough inspections of finished products for quality assurance and conformance to specifications
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Maintain accurate records of production data, including output and machine maintenance activities
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements for CNC Machinist Operator:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional technical certification or a relevant degree is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred operating CNC machines in a metal manufacturing environment
• Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tools, and materials
• Familiarity with programming languages such as G-code and M-code
• Ability to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on maintaining quality standards
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
• Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate machinery in a safe manner
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding manufacturing environment
