Job summary

Classic Gears & Machining in Kaukauna, WI is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to program, set up, and operate precision turning equipment. The role supports customer specifications and requires strong attention to detail in a safe, collaborative shop environment.

Positions are on 1st or 2nd shift, with a 10% shift premium for 2nd shift. Candidates should have 3–5 years of CNC lathe experience, read blueprints, and perform in-process and final inspections using precision gauges.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years CNC machining experience, preferably operating and setting up CNC lathes.
• Experience programming and setting up CNC equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
• Strong math, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathe equipment to produce precision-machined parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, job travelers, and manufacturing specifications.
• Select tooling, establish machine setups, and determine the most efficient machining process.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce scrap.
• Collaborate with machinists and production personnel to support safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work overtime as needed to support customer delivery schedules.

Behm Consulting is assisting Classic Gears & Machining in the search for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join the team. Opportunities are available on both 1st and 2nd Shift.

*2nd Shift Premium = 10% of hourly rate

Position Summary

As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you'll be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment to manufacture precision components that meet customer specifications.
