Position Summary

As the most senior skilled production staff member, you will oversee employee operations within the department or unit. You should have extensive experience in all production functions, including machine setup, process planning, layouts, machining, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.

You will perform activities related to the operation of NC/CNC machines, including developmental or precision machine work, troubleshooting, training others, and coordinating team activities. You will also be responsible for setting up machines, performing trial runs, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Essential Duties

• Receive and transmit instructions and work specifications to workers.
• Train and instruct employees on machine operations and safety procedures.
• Perform machine setups, trial runs, and operate equipment.
• Utilize machine shop theory and practice, including programming and manual skills.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues, recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct on-the-job training and inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Select and adapt tooling and equipment for various machining tasks.
• Lead team planning meetings, coordinate workflow, and improve operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Analyze technical problems and coordinate resolutions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Annual certification in safe practices, with advanced SPC training and leadership development required.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school plus ten years of related experience, or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and present technical information effectively.
