Job summary

Kress Corporation is seeking a full‑time CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift in Brimfield, IL. The role focuses on setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce precision metal components according to specs, with a 15% premium for 3:30pm–12:00am shift.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of CNC experience, reads blueprints accurately, and can work well with engineering and production teams to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and precision measuring instruments.
• C-axis live tooling experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups on CNC lathes or mills, selecting fixtures, jaws, and attachments; download programs, apply offsets, set tooling and verify material against the program.
• Set controls to regulate machining operations or enter/edit programs; read blueprints/work orders; verify parts using micrometers/calipers and other tools.
• Interpret GD&T and tolerances to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Load/unload, position, and fasten workpieces using manual tools, hoists, or cranes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet deadlines.
