Job summary

Kress Corporation is seeking a full-time Machinist for the 2nd shift. The role focuses on setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce precision metal components per specifications.

A pay differential applies for 2nd shift, with exposure to diverse manufacturing projects and a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of CNC machining experience, strong blueprint reading skills, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs while standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Able to read blueprints and inspect parts to tolerances.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups on CNC lathes, select fixtures, chuck/jaws and tooling as per program.
• Load programs, set offsets, verify tool and material matches program requirements.
• Set controls, retrieve and edit programs as needed for operation.
• Read blueprints and inspection directions to determine tolerances and specs.
• Use micrometers, calipers and other precision tools to verify part conformance.
• Interpret GD&T and ensure parts meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet deadlines.

MACHINIST - 2nd SHIFT

Please note there is a pay differential for 2nd shift

Kress is looking for a full-time skilled Machinist with strong CNC lathe experience to join our manufacturing team on our 2nd shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating lathes to produce precision metal components according to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups on CNC lathes, including selecting required fixtures, chuck/jaws, and machine attachments. Download programs, make offsets as required, set tooling per the program, and verify material matches the program.
• Set controls to regulate machining operations, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit programs.
• Read blueprints, work orders, check programs, and inspection directions to determine job specifications and tolerances. Verify conformance of parts produced to specifications using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Load/unload, position and fasten work pieces using manual force, hoists, cranes, hand tools, and portable power tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet job requirements and deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments.
• C-axis live tooling experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
