Ashton North LLC seeks an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for direct-hire in Connecticut. The role requires setting up and operating CNC lathes, including Nakamura machines, and reading blueprints.

You will determine feeds and speeds, perform first-piece inspections, and support operators in the lathe department while maintaining a clean, safe work area. Five years of experience and strong troubleshooting skills are required.

Our manufacturing client is seeking an experienced and dependable CNC Lathe Machinist. This direct-hire position requires at least five years of CNC machine setup experience and the ability to independently set up and operate CNC lathe equipment, including Nakamura machines.

The ideal candidate can interpret technical drawings and work instructions, select and set tooling, perform inspections, troubleshoot machining issues, and support operators within the CNC Lathe Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct line walks in the lathe area as directed by the supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and promptly report unsafe conditions or practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of CNC machine setup experience.
• Demonstrated CNC lathe setup and operating experience.
• Experience with Nakamura equipment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of machining feeds and speeds.
• Proficiency with inspection tools, measuring instruments, and gauges.
• Ability to work independently while supporting department operators.
• Understanding of Lean Enterprise principles and tools.
