Kurt is seeking a Machinist Intern to support our manufacturing team. This internship gives students hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers to fabricate parts while completing their education.

The role emphasizes learning to load parts, run cycles, detect tool wear, inspect outputs, and document results. Flexible hours and on‑the‑job training with experienced engineers are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in 1st year Machine Tool Technology or Automated Systems & Robotics program.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Solid math skills required.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machining centers to fabricate parts.
• Load parts, cycle machine and detect malfunctions (tools wear/damage).
• Run production lots and communicate with co-workers; maintain a safe, organized workplace.
• Inspect machined parts and document results.
• Analyze processes and work on reducing setup and cycle times.
• Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
