Job summary

Johnstech in Minneapolis is seeking an intern machinist to perform vertical milling of high‑performance plastics, maintain tight tolerances, adjust CAM programs using Virtual Gibbs, and set up and inspect parts. The role emphasizes teamwork with other machinists and programmers to refine programs.

Approximately 20 hours per week (summer up to full time) in a clean, bright shop featuring modern CNCs. Paid internship with tuition assistance and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Manufacturing Technology program.
• Ability to do close tolerance work, read and comprehend part drawings, and to inspect his/her own work using both computer-controlled and hand tool inspection equipment.
• Detail oriented.
• Must be enthusiastic, highly motivated, cooperative, responsive and flexible.
• Good communication skills and able to work well with others in a team environment.
